I can't speak English very well. Will I be able to communicate with the instructors and write assignments in English?
When you are accepted in to a JEC PT course, our instructors will help you become more familiar with English and will assist you with developing your speaking, writing, reading and listening skills.
How long will it take us to speak fluent English and how can we practice the language?
It greatly depends on you. The first year of the JEC PT course is designed to help you speak fluent English. After one year of study you should be sufficiently fluent to study in English and participate effectively in any of the programs offered.
Is it a difficult course?
All higher level courses will require dedication and application by students. However, the courses are designed and delivered so that each learning step is achievable for the average student. Students who experience difficulty will be assisted on an individual or small group basis to ensure that they can progress and complete the course.
Is there a job offered to me when I complete the course?
JEC PT will make every effort to liaise with employers and ensure that JEC PT students will be given highest priority in their recruitment program. By the time you successfully graduate, there will be from 1 to 3 job offers waiting for you.
How much is the HRDF stipend?
The HRDF stipend is 1,000 Riyals per month.
Are there any other scholarships available?
As scholarship opportunities become available, these will be widely advertised within JEC PT and on our website. Students wishing to further their studies overseas at the completion of their Diploma may apply to the Saudi Cultural Bureau. Information on the King Abdullah scholarship for Saudi citizens can be found at http://www.saudibureau.org/
Can I continue my studies in Canada or other overseas university?
Students who complete the Algonquin Diploma at JEC PT will have the opportunity to further their education in Canada by enrolling in Bachelor degree programs that are normally completed over an additional two years of full-time study at Algonquin College or at other universities in Canada. The Algonquin Diploma is internationally recognized, so students are eligible to apply to further their studies at other university around the world.
