The first year of the program focuses on developing the students' proficiency in English, mathematics and IT, along with a range of "soft skills" that enhance the students' personal and professional abilities. It offers students the opportunity to learn English to improve communication in their academic, work and social lives.
The program has eight (8) levels that range from limited English language skills to academic preparation for post secondary studies.
Language focused activities and projects help students integrate their language skills being developed in the classroom setting and meet personal goals. In Levels 1 to 5 and Level 8, students take a course called "Independent Learning Projects". In Levels 6 and 7, students take a two-part General Education course.
